How do you overturn a Uber Fare Review

Recently, we were contacted by a Uber Driver over his fare review that resulted in his fare being reduced by $25, almost half of the original fare.

We guided him on how to overturn the fare review and get his rightful money back and he got it back within the night he sent our drafted reply for him.

HOW DO YOU OVERTURN A UBER FARE REVIEW

Riders can do a fare review or overturn a fare totally easily by clicking a few times on the Uber Rider App.

When you receive this email from Uber, it means your rider has reviewed your fare.

Many fraudulent riders have done that to get their fare reduced especially when they had to pay a big fare due to times of high demand. Some riders even go to the extent of complaining to Uber that they did not take the ride even though you had completed the trip and sent them to their destination.

MOST of the time, your fare would get reviewed, reduced or removed.

Let us guide you through how to make sure this does not happen to you or even when it does, you throw it back to Uber and get your money back.

  • Step 1 – Go to your Uber Driver App
  • Step 2 – Click on Trip History and select the Trip that was reviewed
  • Step 3 – Click on Help -> Issues with my Fare -> My fare was adjusted

Some reasons for Rider Fare Reviews include

  • Rider didn’t take the trip
  • The trip didn’t start or end on time
  • The route was not ideal
  • Technical issues impacted the trip
  • Cash was requested or paid to the driver

Rider didn’t take the trip

Response – Rider did take the trip, Uber can track on their system if there was a completed trip from pick-up point to rider destination. They simply have to track whether the Uber vehicle did move along the route of pick-up to drop off.

Trip didn’t star or end on time / Route was not ideal / Technical issues impacted the trip

Response – Rider did take the trip, Uber can track on their system if there was a completed trip from pick-up point to rider destination. They simply have to track whether the Uber vehicle did move along the route of pickOne common scam Uber Rider try to trick the system and getting the fare review is asking Drivers to take longer routes and then do a fare review with Uber on inefficient route. If Driver do not take note, they wouldn’t have realised that the fare are reviewed and these Riders would have gotten away with it.-up to drop off.

Technical issues impacted the trip

On a cash trip, there might be instances where Fare to be Collected from Rider is different from the amount on the Rider’s app.

No need to worry, collect whatever cash amount shown on rider, take a photo of the rider app and send it to Uber for a review.

How to get your fare readjusted

All Uber trips are Fixed Fare Trips, meaning riders are shown the full fare upfront and time/distance does not impact the fare unless there is multiple stops along the way, in which Riders are supposed to update the address. Always get the rider to update the address if you want to be compensated for additional pick-up/ drop-off points.

Always highlight to Uber that you have asked Rider’s preferred route if you practice it. This practice protects driver and rider cannot accuse you of taking an inefficient route.

Driver Word vs Rider Words

When there are 2 conflicting stories, then evidence would be the key. Always have a good car camera onboard to record the video and conversation with the rider. When you have evidence, the ball is in your court. Inform Uber that you have the recorded evidence and see if the rider would still dare to stick to their claims.

A good car camera is an essential item for all Uber / Grab Drivers.
