Ryde is introducing a new premium car booking service to Singapore’s private-hire market.
The new premium service will provide fresh competition for GrabCar Premium, which is the most prominent booking service available after the imminent departure of Uber and its premium booking service UberEXEC.
The new service will be named RydeEXEC.
What is RydeEXEC Car Booking Service
RydeEXEC offers riders a chance to enjoy the finer things in life with greater ride comfort, high rating drivers and the experience of travelling in exquisite limousines.
Riders can expect to be picked up in luxury limousines such as Audi A8, Mercedes S-Class, Toyota Alphard and Vellfire.
The service will be launched on 10 May 2018.
How much will a trip cost
According to the email sent by Ryde, the fare of a RydeExec trip from Vivocity to Orchard Central is $20. It would be 2x of the usual RydeX fare and $8 more than a taxi.
Is Ryde the new Uber of Singapore?
Ryde has been in the spotlight recently after their launch of RydeX booking service, a booking service that commuters see as a replacement for the soon to be defunct UberFLASH service or previously known as UberX.
The new service, RydeEXEC, also bears an uncanny resemblance to Uber’s premium booking service UberEXEC.
Competition heating up in Singapore market
There are many new players that have announced their intention to compete with Grab in Singapore ever since the Uber-Grab merger.
Beside local ride-booking company Ryde, established companies from Indonesia Go-Jek, Indian company Jugnoo and blockchain company My Vehicle Ledger (MVL) have either announced their plans to begin operations in Singapore or closely linked to partner taxi companies in Singapore.
There are also a few other ride-hailing companies that are rushing to fight for a piece of the pie in Singapore.
