Singapore will move into another new phase from 27 September 2021. From next Monday, people will only be allowed to gather in groups of two, as Singapore seek to tighten restrictions to slow down the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Support for Private Hire and Taxi Drivers – Covid-19 Driver Relief Fund (CDRF)
As Singapore heads towards a reduced gathering and dining out capacity from 27 September, private-hire and taxi drivers are likely to see a further drop in business.
The Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) has announced that will continue to support taxi and private hire car drivers by extending the COVID-19 Driver Relief Fund for another two months until Nov 2021.
Private-hire car drivers will continue to receive CDRF payout in October 2021 at $10 per vehicle per day and $5 per vehicle per day for the month of November 2021.
Taxi main hirers will continue to receive payouts in the form of rental rebates.
Measures during Stabilisation Phase from 27 September to 24 October 2021
During the stabilisation phase, only 2 passengers from different households will be allowed. More than 2 passengers can travel together only if they are from the same household. For example – A couple with their 2 children staying in the same household.
Drivers and riders must be masked up properly at all times. The driver can reject the passenger if they are not masked up properly or exceed the stipulated number of allowed passengers.
Social car-pooling services such as GrabHitch and Rydepool will be suspended. Carpooling booking services such as those thru Telegram are not allowed and illegal since April 2020. Do remind your friends and family that it is illegal and you risked getting a hefty fine and getting your vehicle impounded by LTA.
Social Carpooling between friends and colleagues is allowed but there must not be any fees involved. There should only be a maximum of 2 persons riding in the car.
20 minutes Grace Period for all HDB and URA EPS Carpark
Our favorite grace period is back. From 27 September (Mon) until further notice, motorists will enjoy an extended grace period of 20 minutes at all HDB and URA EPS car parks. Reminder it is only for EPS car park, meaning must go thru barrier and charge to cashcard type, not your roadside use coupon or app to pay kind.
