The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has introduced a safer method for accessing key vehicle-related OneMotoring services.
As of June 30, Singaporean vehicle owners can no longer use the last four characters of their NRIC/FIN. Instead, a new Access Code—generated via Singpass—must be used .
Why the change?
- The old method, relying on the final four characters of a person’s ID, posed privacy and security risks.
- The Access Code adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring only authorized individuals (such as dealers or service providers) can access your vehicle details.
What’s affected?
As of June 30, the following three digital services require this new Access Code
- PARF/COE rebate enquiry for registered private vehicles
- Vehicle transfer fee checking
- PQP payable enquiry under Cat C Early Turnover Scheme, which applies mainly to fleet and commercial vehicles
How it works — A quick user guide
- Log in to OneMotoring using Singpass (Individual users).
- Generate an Access Code: choose the vehicle, enter the recipient’s mobile number (and optional email), and submit the request. The system displays the code and sends it via SMS—and email if provided.
- The Access Code is valid for up to 14 calendar days, or until you choose to revoke it. The code can be reused during this period.
- Revoke anytime via OneMotoring under “Digital Services” → “Others” → “Revoke Access Code”
What this means for you
- Better control: Only people you trust—dealerships, brokers, or platforms—can retrieve your vehicle data.
- More convenient: After issuing, the same code works for multiple enquiries—no need to repeat the process for PARF, COE, or transfer fees.
- Safer transactions: Protects against scams targeting personal data tied to your vehicle.
