The Approval to Drive letter is a formal document issued by the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) to applicants for the Private Driver Vocational Licence (PDVL).
Whom have successfully passed the mandatory background check by LTA. You should have received a notice from both Uber and Grab to collect your Approval-To-Drive (ATD) from their office.
If you had submitted your application to LTA for the PDVL course screening.
Successful applicants who receives their ATD will be granted a 12-months extension to complete and pass the PDVL course. Those who are issued with the ATD will be allowed to continue driving until June 30, 2018. All Private-Hire Drivers are required to have a PDVL by 1 July 2018 before they are allowed to drive.
Drivers should keep the original copy of the Approval to Drive in their private-hire vehicle at all times.
Drivers who completed the PDVL sign-up through Uber’s FastLane programme should submit the documents to Grab by 3 June 2017. Any delay may result in removal from the Grab system
Private-Hire Drivers who have a valid Approval-To-Drive (ATD) from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) are required to complete the mandatory medical check-up and pass the Private Hire Car Driver Vocational Licence (PDVL) before 30 June 2018. Failing which, drivers will not be allowed to continue driving as a private-hire driver.
