Surging Monday

The application for the SIRS scheme was open on Monday 27 April 2020. There was a surge in traffic as users rushed to the website to submit their applications.

Some users complained that they already had problems with their application before 12 noon, hours after the application open. Some users were unable to enter or complete their applications.

Upgrading in Progress

Applicants who were looking forward to submitting their applications on Tuesday were surprised that they no longer had an apply now button on the website. NTUC explained that the massive surge in traffic had resulted in connectivity problems on the site.

NTUC is looking at implementing a queue system so as to better manage user experience and avoid further disruptions.

As such, the application page will be closed for now for them to effect the changes.

No Closing Date

NTUC also highlighted that there is no closing date for applications at the moment.

Those who are eligible for automatic payout can expect to receive it at the end of May, July and October.

Applicants can check whether they qualify or eligible for auto-payout on NTUC website.
